I don't know what to do.
I don't know what I can say.

My son's 1st birthday is in July.
My grandparent's 50th anniversary is also in July.
We were going to throw a big party for all the family!
Everyone was so excited.

My grandfather just found out he only has a few weeks to live. We knew he was sick, but they had given him a year.. his last check up changed that.
My DH and DS and I drove down the 8 hours as soon as we heard.

He now has Leukemia.
He has two weeks to live.
Hospice just arrived to make him more comfortable.

I'm too in shock to process.
My grandmother cried on my shoulder.
I cried on my mom's shoulder.

I wish there was something I could say or do..

Can you celebrate early? That might make things easier for him and those are the memories you'd cherish forever.

I am so sorry.....one of the most heartbreaking and difficult circumstances we confront in life. Lean on your hospice nurses. Hospice is amazing sweetheart. They will be a great resource for you and your family in addition to making your grandfathers last weeks as peaceful and comfortable as possible. My thoughts are with you and yours.

We are celebrating early. We're all trying to smile with him, playing poker with him because he loves it. I'm just out of words..

Something that i didn't do, but wish i had, was taken advantage of the hospice counselors after my mom passed away.

It sucks losing a loved one. *hugs*
