Of a disease that would cause your child to live with great pain and die early....would you still have children or would you adopt?

My parents lost 2 babies to a genetic condition, I can't remember the name at the moment. My brother got genetic testing before getting married, he wasn't a carrier. Sil had testing too, just in case my brother's came out positive, although it was a recessive condition.

I would try if there was genetic testing available to find out before hand. If the child had it, I would abort. I would do this as long as I could stand doing it. If it kept not working out, then I'd probably adopt. If there was no genetic testing available, I really don't know, to be honest. It's not a conversation we've had because we aren't carriers for anything like that or anything else "bad" that we know of. We did do genetic testing when far enough along with both pregnancyis and had something ben wrong, despite the high result of false positives, we would have aborted. I know that's no popular on here, but that's our decision.

That's a tricky one. Just because you're a carrier doesn't mean that the child will get it.

I would not have children, no. We would adopt, or just not have children.
