I always wanted to talk to someone about it before I got it but I never knew anyone who had it.  I have found it a good alternative to tubal since it is good for 10 years vs only 5 with mirena.

If you've ever been curious about it ask here.

Plus I have problems with hormonal BC so it has been such a blessing!

Why didn't you just have the tubal?

Wasn't sure if I was ready and since its irreversible.

I loved mine. I had my tubes tied and I love this better

I wore one for 20 years altogether, and I swore by it. I only had it removed because, at my age, I no longer need b/c, but if I still needed b/c, I'd still be wearing my ParaGard. My only two complaints were: 1) the insertions (initial, and 10-year reinsertion) were PAINFUL, but this passed quickly, and 2) one b/f in particular would hit my strings when we did it (but he was quite BIG!), so I had the strings trimmed which eliminated this problem. You might enjoy asking this to a larger group of women who wear or have worn IUD's at the IUD Support Group.

I got mine a few months ago.. I can't take hormones and Drs wouldn't tie my tubes.

I have one side effect from it and it makes me wanna rip it out (a constant discharge that the Drs swear is normal o_O) other than that i love it

How do you know if stays in place? Isn't there a string or something?

I had an appt to get it...then chickened out last minute and cancelled. I hear so often that the guy can feel strings and the shorter they have to cut them, the harder removal will be. My cramps and bleeding are bad enough now, and it makes them worse. Certain positions are uncomfy. My dh kept worrying he would be poked. Lol.
