Question after reading a current post?

After I read a post early today I've been thinking about this. Is it okay to try to be friends with child once they are grown or even when they are younger? They way she bonded with her adult child I didn't really agree with. But is it ok to be both a parent and a friend?

I will be happy to give my input where it is asked for but I want them to make thier own decisions. My mom still treats me like I'm in 3rd grade so I already know what I don't want to do when they're grown.

What post are you referring to?

I don't see why you can't become friends after they are grown, you don't have to be in mom mode forever.
