This should scare you when you know how prevalant GMO's are in our food supply.

This is the first study where GM0 food has been fed to rats who are then observed right up to their deaths, normally  650 days after birth. Other researchers stopped experiments at 90 days. The experiment was expensive (4.1 million) and so the animal groups were quite small, but 200 rats took part. Their GMO food was grown by the experimenters, using the methods recommended by the seed manufacturer. The diet was between 11% and 30% GMO, so this was not a case of feeding large amounts of material to the rats.

The GMO rats died at a younger age than the control group, but more importantly they started getting tumors at a much younger age, especially the females, who got them principally in their mammary glands. The reduction in age of onset was approximately a third of the lifespan. Full autopsies were performed on every rat, and apart from the tumors there was clear damage to liver and kidneys among the GMO-fed groups.
