Are you OR do you hire an Interior designer/decorator?

I'm in school currently and seriously considering starting my own interior decorating / consulting and home staging business. I'm not wanting a 'get rich quick' thing, I'm extremely realistic and expect to do a lot of hard work.

That being said, I wanted to know YOUR opinions when it comes to pricing and how exactly to charge people for my services so I can finish my business plan and pricing model.

I am going to do a *free* initial in home consultation with free design questionnaire and a design plan (to attract business). After that, I'm clueless.

1: Should I charge per subsequent visit?

2: Should I charge a 'finders fee' plus cost for items that I have found and bought for them? What would be fair, a percentage of the cost?

If you have an interior decorator or if you are one, I would REALLY appreciate some input.

THANK YOU!
