There's this guy I work with and he's really sweet. We were all talking about our spouses and I told him I'm going through a divorce. He asked me why I'm going through that and I told him, I don't have anything to hide. I told him about all the cheating(exdh did this 4 times) and the abuse(put exdh in jail twice) that I went through. He said that I should drop the divorce and FORGIVE him and. Ummm no, there's not that much forgiving in the world. He called me cold hearted and said that I'm setting my dd up for a failure when she tries to have a relationship. Basically, he was saying she'd going to follow in my foot steps.

He must do that to his wife and that's why he thinks it's ok.

If anything you're teaching your daughter to have respect for herself and to NEVER allow someone to continue to mistreat her. Being strong is not being weak or cold. Who's to say you won't find a man later down the road that will treat you like the queen you are? He's an idiot but yes you can and eventually need to forgive him. Don't let not forgiving him block your blessings!

If by following in your footsteps she won't put up with cheating and abuse - then hell yeah, she should follow in your footsteps.

if he says anything else, Report him. You do not need to deal with that kind of sh*t
