my SO wants me to drink castor oil for fathers day

Based on my ultrasound, the baby is full term and about 6 1/2lbs, and I'm at about 38wks. I lost my mucus plug yesterday, and today I went to the hospital because I was leaking something. The OBGYN told me it was just mucus and my water is Ok, but based on the frequency of my contractions I was in labor. I didn't dialate and they sent me home.
I've been contracting all week with increasing frequency, and obviously I'm sick of it, but the hospital told me it could be another week or possibly even two before the baby comes.
Well, when we left the hospital SO was visibly upset. He said he had just really pictured himself holding his first baby for fathers day. The doctor had mentioned castor oil and walking as safe ways to increase contraction strength (which would help me dilate) and SO asked me to take it tomorrow, so that he could have his fathers day baby. I can't decide how I feel about this - I understand how he feels, I'm tired of contracting, and the baby looks good to go. But at the same time, there's no NEED to rush things.

I wouldn't.  But if you do it, he does it too.  Seems fair enough to me.

I personally wouldn't.. but, if you feel like trying anything like that, please do some research first. You know, side effects (not the walking, obviously, the castor oil and anything similar)

The baby will come when it's ready. I think so needs to relax.

Yep. The baby won't come unless it's ready.
