Why would anyone go to a pox party?  Why knowingly expose your child to chicken pox?

Because it offers long lasting immunity while vaccinating does not. If you have no risk factors it is better to do it this way. Childhood shingles is becoming a problem since the vaccine.

Yes i would. I would make sure I was not around her for a while though. I never got them.... but all  my friends and cousins did.

I'm tattooed,pagan,pro-choice,pro-legalizing marijuana,pro-gay marriage,anti-war,non-vaxing,tree hugging, animal loving, book reading, animal testing free, depression battling, trying to raise a free spirit and letting her be who she is but still teaching her important life lessons, fighting for equal rights at the same time, don't like it get over it.

Most people I know vax. So I would have a hard time even finding a pox party.

I wouldn't. It's not the "safe" disease people seem to think it is.

I'd rather do that then get a shot.

Everyone I know who got it, survived it.  The vaccine has only been available since the late 90's.

Once they get it young, they are not going to get it again. When one of us got it as a kid, Mom made sure we all got it. She only had to suffer through it one time. Also, real chicken pox are better than the vaccine I think.

I was the kid that ended up hospitalized with encephalitis from the chicken pox. I would never knowingly subject my kids to that kind of hell. I was an otherwise 100% healthy kid.
