Cat litter question!

We just got a cat and I hate how the litter box smells. I scoop each clump out every time I see one and we use the arm and hammer litter. It doesn't smell like poop or pee but it has that litter smell that I hate.

Is there anything I can do to get rid of this smell?

There's these litter crystals you can buy alongside the litter that you mix in that totally obliterate the smell.

Also, make sure you buy GOOD litter.
I prefer tidy cats for small spaces/multiple cats (even for just ONE cat)

Well I asked the lady at pet smart. She has 3 cats and she said arm and hammer is the only one that works for her so I went with that.

I'll look for the litter crystals though! Thank you

arm n hammer is good, I'm sure!!!!

baking soda sprinkled in the litter helps too if for some reason you can't find the litter crystals.

I use arm and hammer as well. I scoop once a day, for that's when it starts to smell, after the cats went a few times. Other than that, I don't really notice any odar.

I also use litter sifter bags. I don't put litter just in the box.

Use the Fresh Step Scoopable kind.

Cat litter stinks. Its one of the downsides of having a cat. I use Fresh Step.

If it's the clay smell you hate, try a different variety. World's Best is made with corn. Never used it myself, and the only person I know who did try it had to stop because her cat ate it (the fresh litter, not waste). ShweatScoop is made with wheat, has an unusual pinkish color, and smells awesome. It has a fresh, sweet scent that doesn't completely dimish when used (though obviously it does lessen). I have used this before and liked it a lot but it does cost more, though they do regularly put out coupons.
