I keep having chest pain.  I have had it now and again for years.  I told my doc about it when I was pregnant with my last child and she didn't think anything of it.  I even called one time when I was pregnant this last time and they said if it continued for an hour go in but otherwise not.  Well it never lasts that long but it hurts sooooo bad.  I am getting it more and more.  I thought it was possibly stress related but I just got up this morning and the kids are alloccupied and I was just chillin on the computer and wham!  I think that even if I dropped everything and ran in to the doctor that it would be gone by the time I got there.  I'm still having a bit of pain now but it is almost gone.

What would you do?

Since it just happened do you think it would be a good iea to go to urgent care (not the E.R.) and have them give me a check over and get the ball rolling on this?  I'm sick of having these and am getting really concerned because they are happening more often.

Go to ER next time it happens so you can get checked out while it is happening.

It would be gone by the time I got there.  I live 20 minutes from the nearest hospital.

I go to the hospital, but I've had 3 open heart valve transplants.

If I were you I would make an appointment with a cardiologist. They can put a holter monitor on fora 24 hour observation if they think something is wrong. Baby aspirin might help until then.

Are you on an antacid? My husband had on and off chest pain and was freaked, went to the doc and they gave him nexium and he was good as new :) but I would call your doc and bring it up.
