 Condom Snorting

The new trend among kids that may be the strangest fad yet. What are they doing? Snorting condoms. It’s just as bizarre as it sounds – but that hasn’t kept kids around the country from doing it.

The Condom Challenge On the web, condom snorting is officially called the “Condom Challenge”. It is part of a long tradition of challenge videos where kids dare each other to do something dumb. Anyone who takes the challenge films it for YouTube. Why? For likes of course. Why else would you shove a latex tube up your nose

But How… How exactly do you snort a condom? We’re not going to post a tutorial but the physics are pretty simple. The condom goes in your nose and comes out of your mouth via the back of your mouth. Feel free to gag involuntarily and develop a condom phobia.

Lubrication. You can’t do the condom challenge with just any kind of condom. Apparently kids opt for the lubricated kind. The slimy stuff on the outside of the condom makes it easier to slide down your nose. Unfortunately it leaves a slime trail down the inside of your nose and throat (yuck).

What Kind of Condoms. Just in case your were wondering and cringing, the condoms used for the condom challenge are clean. Unfortunately, it still goes up your nose so that little bit of trivia only makes it slightly less gross. They are most certainly not still “clean” when they come out of the other side.

Surprising Origins. Condom snorting may just be making headlines now but it has a long and sordid history. The first condom snorting video surfaced on the web sometime around 2007. We’re not sure how it started. But we’re pretty sure it involved a high level of boredom and a kid with a very low IQ or a desire to join the cast of Jackass.

The YouTube Explosion. The Condom Challenge has been around for six years. And in that time it has spread around the globe. While most ridiculous trends stay local, there are several YouTube videos from kids as far away as the UK snorting condoms up their noses. This has to be one of the best examples of a global community that we can think of.

Savannah Strong. Why is condom snorting getting so much attention now? It’s all thanks to YouTube user “Savannah Strong” who’s condom snorting video has received more hits than any other. Why is she so popular? Because she’s a cute girl who’s willing to do strange stuff while listening to Taylor Swift’s “22”.

The Scope“Savannah Strong” isn’t the only condom snorter on the internet by far. The HuffingtonPost recently reported that a YouTube search of “condom challenge” produced over 279,000 videos. That means at least a couple hundred thousand kids have tried it.

The YouTube Crackdown. If you stopped scrolling through just to check out some YouTube videos of kids doing weird stuff with condoms you may be disappointed. Unfortunately for the morbidly curious, YouTube has taken a strong stance against these condom snorting videos and has deleted many of them.

Reaction Videos. Most of the Condom Challenge videos are gone from YouTube. What you can find on the internet is condom snorting reaction videos. Reaction videos are videos of people watching videos of people doing something. It’s usually something gross like sniffing condoms up their noses

Celebrity Involvment. Snorting condoms is so popular and so bizarre that it has already received celebrity attention. Stars are getting together to warn everyone who doesn’t know any better that snorting condoms is not only dumb but stupid. One of the most concerned stars is Ellen DeGeneres who released a PSA called Condom Snorting: STOP IT!!!

The Boston College. Trouble Stars aren’t the only ones against condom snorting. Recently Boston College was so alarmed at the trend that they prohibited kids from distributing condoms on campus about a month ago. We’re all for kids not snorting condoms but which is worse: condom snorting or STDs.

What’s It Like? What’s snorting a condom like? Well we don’t know from personal experience. But we can say that the faces of condom challenge participants don’t look pleasant. There’s a lot of grimacing and uncomfortable looks – no one seems to be enjoying it.

Should You Try It? The medical community says no. Doctor Carol Cooper recently told The Sun that snorting condoms could be fatal: “The nose is connected to the back of the mouth – it’s also connected to the airwaves. There’s every possibility something you push up your nose will end up in your windpipe, or in your lungs. With potentially fatal results,”

This is what happens when parents stop guiding their children in life...Children are NOT mini adults and they DO NOT need every freedom to try whatever thought pops into their head.  I'm pretty sure drawing some damned lines against THIS wouldn't destroy little Susie's creativity.  Hell, it may even save her a few brain cells.

Wtf, this is by far the dumbest generation yet.

I wonder if Glozelle has done this yet. Feel free to look her up on YouTube. She is the embarrassment of my generation.
