Awkward & Sad

Xdh has been busy with his wife and new baby and hasn't had his visits with our kids for a few weeks now.  Me and the kids went to my xfil's home Sunday with Father's Day gifts and family dinner.  Xdh, new wife, and baby show up as well after originally declining the invitiation.  Was a rather awkard gathering for all of us.  Kids were super excited to see their dad though so I guess it turned out ok in the end.

Awkward turtle. Did you ask him why no visits?

We had discussed previously and he says they are just too tired with the new baby and need some space.  = (

That's understandable.
Hope he makes up for it when things settle down.

I hate awkwardness, but at least the kids got to spend time with their dad on fathers day.

well hey, if you guys can get over your awkwardness then co-parenting should be easier to manage together.

No it's not. You don't abandon the kids you have just because you have a new baby.

No it's not understandable. People have new babies all the time and don't neglect their other kids. He's a shitty dad.

Oh shit. I misread. I thought he hadnt seen them as much. No, It doesnt matter how many kids your wife pops out, you have others that need just as much attention.
