Anyone have this? Im leaving the er now and this is what theyre thinking i have. They're referring me to a neurologist.

A text I sent my mom:
They just did lots of muscle tests and poked with a needle. Left side felt like her touching me with a finger, the right hurt like a needle

What is peripheral neuropathy?
Peripheral neuropathy is a problem that affects the peripheral nerves. These are the nerves that control your sense of touch, how you feel pain and temperature, and your muscle strength. Most of the time the problem starts in the fingers and toes. As it gets worse, it moves into the limbs, causing pain and loss of feeling in the feet, legs, and hands.

When you have peripheral neuropathy, you may have less feeling in your fingers and toes. You may have trouble with your balance. It may be hard to do things that require coordination, such as walking or fastening buttons.

Update!!!

Stress!!!!!!! Said I most likely bottle it up so it manifested and is coming out as pain..anyone ever have this happen???

The neurologist will deal with your symptoms.  They will probably have you tested for diabetes and low or high thyroid.  If you are diabetic and control your diabetes, your neuropathy could improve.

Me?  I have idiopathic neuropathy - which just means for no damn good reason.  I just have it.  I've had surgeries to correct it in both my legs and both of my arms.  I was fine until I got pregnant again and now it is back with a vengeance.  I'm in quite a bit of pain.  Apparently it can also affect your digestive track because it affects the nerves in the colon and large and small intestine.   There is no cure, only management of symptoms.

I found out I had it when I was 23.  I'm 36 now.  Try not to worry because it may not be that at all.  You may just have carpal tunnel - which can be fixed.
