how do you resolve fights over toys in your home? my girls are two and four and a half, and I'm always hearing "I had it first!!!" there is no way to tell who had it first and I'm about to go insane from all the screeching and crying and screaming.

I take them and put them away if they keep fighting over them...but my kids are almost 4 and almost 7. The baby, almost 17 months thinks everything is hers so she just snatches, but Im trying to teach her to share.

Tell them that if they don't stop fighting over it then I'm going to take it away and nobody will be able to play with it and follow through.

I tell them that I am not a referee. I don't want to hear about it and one more sound about it and nobody gets it.

two things that worked with my three kids...

I bought an inexpensive timer and taught them how to use it. when they started to argue, they were taught to use the timer to take turns.

if fighting over the toy continued, the toy was put away for the day because they couldn't share and if they couldn't share, they couldn't play with it at all.

I just put the toy up for the rest of the day.  If they can't play nice, they can't play at all.  :-)

I tell them the toy is going to get taken away if they cannot share.

if the kids can't share mommy gets the toy. mommy then puts the toy out of the way and puts it back in the toy area later.
