I guess I don't see anything sad about this? I am a huge fan of children and creative play, and I am a huge, huge, fan of creative learning and hands on learning....but even with a variety of learning styles, sometimes, kids do need to buckle down, be it while listening to a miner tech them how to pan for gold or writing a paper about how miners impacted their environment during the gold rush.

It's showing what polls like Ritalin does to kids.

My daughter is medicated to help with her focus. She still has every bit of her imagination.

The pills sucked all of his imagination out. They've taken away his childhood. It is really, really sad.

This comic is the sad thing.  It's not like that in all cases.

I think it's our new reality, oh your kid sneezed give him a pill oh your kid is failing school give him a pill oh your kid is sleepy give him a pill... He's angry give him a pill he's sad give him a pill.

It's horrible. :( I mean sure they "work" in the cartoon and are showing the "positive" side of these pills but honestly, why stick a kid on a pill for every single little thing before trying to modify that child's learning plans if he can't sit still, give him an active activity for homework, not a paper.
