DH and I plan to encourage our children to stay at home as long as possible.
We will suggest they do 2 years at the local community college and then transfer to a local university and get their degree (unless they get a full scholarship). Then we will encourage them to stay home for a few more years after they graduate so they can pay off debt (student loans) and save for either a down payment on a house or a nice apartment.
We want to give our kids the best start in life and feel this is a good way to help them.
So they will probably be around 22-23 when they finish school, then home while they find a good job, work and save, so they probably won't move out until they are 25-28 years old.
I think we are in them minority on here. We also plan on encouraging them to not get married or have any children during this time too.
