You're making me homesick with your Pure Michigan commercials. And the Grand Rapids one, that was just plain evil.

Personally,I think I'm just to cranky in my old age to deal with tourists anymore. One thing I'll say nice about Michigan is that usually,at least over in Muskegon, grand haven, and more north,we don't get those extreme storms. You know like a lot of tornadoes and things like that.

Quoting jadedcynic:

I grew up in Michigan. I am familiar with it's frequent bipolar shifts. What I can no longer stand is 110 degrees for 9 months out of the year and absolutely no green at all. Desert landscaping means that literally, the grass is greener on the Michigan side.

Quoting elzingah36:

Ah,the grass is always greener on the other side. I live in Muskegon,Michigan. The four seasons are extremely sporadic and the summers last from the beginning of May to sometimes the middle if October. The summers are full of extreme heat&terrible humidity.for an asthmatic it's horrible.fall happens for about a month then there's winter that usually hits in November and lasts til about the middle of april, little bit of disgusting"spring" and then boom...summer again. No state is perfect but 39yrs of this mess and I'm more than ready for a whole new mess.

Quoting jadedcynic:

I'd trade Arizona heat for green spaces and 4 seasons.

Quoting elzingah36:

I've lived in Michigan all my life.I'm 39. I definitely would mind leaving.

Your on.
I have been to Arizona many times, have a lot of family there.
What made you leave Michigan? Work...lack of work? Family?

Quoting jadedcynic:

Trade you.

Quoting elzingah36:

Only if one can afford it. I still would love to get out of here. Personally,I hate Michigan. I only wish I could move to a different state lol!

My stepfather's kids lived here. I was an adult when my mom and younger siblings moved out here. I rented the house from my mom and stepdad, then I moved out to Arizona a year later when the house was finally sold.

You guys don't have any green at all? We live in the desert too and there are plenty of houses with green grass, beautiful plants/flowers and palm trees etc.

When I lived in California sometimes I'd watch Notre Dame football games when they had a home game just so i could see home (I grew up near South Bend, IN). I'm back in Indiana now so I can go back to hating Notre Dame >,<

I hear ya there. That was one of the biggest things I missed out Indiana when I lived in California. It was so dry & brown where I lived. I hated it. I missed the green of Indiana when I was stuck out there.
