I PLAN to apply for it in a couple months. Yep thats right.

AND I live with my dad.

Now before anyone gets all hateful and bashing I will include that I am doing it because I am going back to school. Which means I am cutting my time back at work so I can focus on my studies and I just wont be able to afford things like I can now without the help.

It kinda embarrasses me in a way, but in the long run my goal is to hopefully never need to use them again after finishing school.

**by the way since I know ppl may point it out since I am talkin about school plans I know my grammer is not the best.*

Which is why people should do these things before they have kids.

She obviously could in the beginning.  She isn't on PA now.  Obviously her situation has changed!!  Amazing concept to realize this *DUH*

Quoting ElitestJen:

Um....in not being able to provide for her kid before having one? For not paying for her own education and living expenses? Amazing concepts....

Quoting fullxbusymom:

It is very responsible for her to go to school to be able to support herself and her child.  Wonder where the lack of responsibility falls into place??

Quoting ElitestJen:

Does responsibility give you a headache? Or is it just tooooo hard?

Quoting momof2girls220:

does it hurt having your head that far up your ass?

Quoting ElitestJen:

Oh good. Someone else gets to chase their dreams while mooching off society.

This is a great idea. If people that support themselves need money they have to take out a loan and pay it back with interest. I think everyone should have to.

Quoting Anonymous:

I think if food stamps were replaced with a system that lets you BORROW money for food during a rough time and pay it back in increments as you work ...many people would find a way to eat without them.

You shouldn't be embarrassed by using them. If you need the help, get it. Good luck with school!

Completely depends on her job.  Millions of Americans can't as well.

Quoting illinoismommy83:

Sorry, I must have misread. I swear she said she planned to apply for food stamps.

Millions of Americans can hold full time employment while going to school full time.

Quoting fullxbusymom:

That is exactly what she is trying to do!!!

Quoting illinoismommy83:

And if peo?ple would support their own families, the government COULD put the tax money to something useful. How about we fix the roads, that we all share? How about we put more money into public education so the children can emerge as self-sufficient, educated adults? How about we do something that benefits EVERYONE instead of picking up the slack because some people don't feel like working?

Quoting Cupcake_mama_22:

As long as you are working no one should have a problem!!! Screw the ladies that say otherwise.

I'm getting so sick of seeing these posts bashing mothers for PA and FS. Too fucking bad your "hard earned" tax dollars are going to feeding someone's family. The gov would take that money from you all in the same just put it to other funding so stfu!!!

Ugh!! Isn't there a political type group to post all the hater post for PA, FS and WIC...?

So if I go work for 2 hours, will you give me $700 because I do not wish to work more than 2 hours?

Quoting Cupcake_mama_22:

I said IF THEY WORK no one should have a problem. And I don't know what cloud you live on but the gov isn't going to fix more roads or the public education system. They take taxes out for ALL THREE and only actually supply ONE!!! So again if you work and need extra help I feel no one should bitch.

she is going to school to get a better job with better pay, in hopes of preventing the need for welfare in the future.

seriously, pull your head out of your ass.

Quoting ElitestJen:

Quoting momof2girls220:

so because i defend someone to a point, i am not responsible? how does that make sense? i take care of my responsibilities every day.

so you're telling me that someone who has to cut back on work hours to go to school and get a better job with better pay has no right to use foodstamps for a short time?

mmhmmm...   Yes, dear.   Maybe you just don't believe in accountability, then.

The people on here think its responsible to have kids at 15 years old. They don't let you in college at that age.

No, it hasn't.  She still had a baby before she could sustain herself or the child.  She's still uneducated.  She had a baby too young, regardless of how old she is.  Society now gets to finance her choices.  The only thing that has changed is that she now is responsible for another human being.  Oh...and for your hand-to-mouth people, "sustain" means maintaining long term job security and stability.

Yes, they do.  There's no age minimum to get into college.
