Can the disbelief in God make you go insane?

What is the purpose for the inner monologue?

To think, and work out your thoughts.

Where does the need for opposing sides come from?

If it is just you thinking, why are there two?

      With that said -

What is the first thing people do when they pray? What does the person having a breakdown mentally do? What is the football player doing when he whispers " please, please, please" before he kicks a field goal?

They are mentally reaching out. Whether or not something is really there to plead to, there is an internal instinct that calls for it. It's a release.

Now what have we learned from those that confine themselves into solitary? More often than not, they go into mental illness and depression. There is no release.

Is the disbelief in any higher power equivalent to mental solitary?

Our do those that disbelieve, still mentally reach out, there is just no acknowledgment of the act?
