DF has a good job he makes about $2400 a month but the rent on this house he wants to get is $900 plus bills and stuff everything will be about $2000 a month. I think $900 is way to much for rent and I dont think we'll be able to afford it. Am I crazy?? How much is your rent plus bills every month?? Do you think we can do it?

Btw I'm not working right now I have a 6 yr old and a 2 week old baby.

*UPDATE* so we found a place, we're moving in with DF friend. His rent is $725 for a 3 bedroom house so we'll be paying half of that plus half the bills. i fell so much better about this then the $900 a month lol

rent/mortgage should be no more than 33% of your income

I dont think you will be able to afford it. 400$ left over isnt gonna feed your family and give you enough gas IMO

Way too high with your income... I'm not sure you would be approved even if you wanted to do it.  Its not worth worrying about groceries every month!

No that's absolutely too much of your income. Our income is 6k/ month and our mortgage is only $780/ month. Have you looked into buying? In many states its cheaper to own than rent.

Rent for us is 1,050.00. We pay water, trash, and elctric for basic bills. I would LOVE for rent to be 900 or less!

If you have decent credit then buying a house is much more affordable.

I don't think 900 is too much for rent at all.

I think it sounds like you have too many bills if they add up to 1100 a month.
