My Dd is completely potty trained with the exception of pooping in the potty. She is 3 and never had a accident. She will get a pull up put it on and poop. She told me it hurts poop in the potty. I dont want to give her poop issues but I am starting to get concerned. Any suggestions? Anyone else dxperience this?

Have you ruled out medical issues?

Im guessing she just doesn't want to go in the potty.
Or it could be that sitting on the toilet for that long hurts her legs. Ds used to have that problem until he got a little bigger.

Is her poop hard? Up her fiber and water intake to soften it.

My DS always hurts when he poops. Since when he was a little baby. I make sure I give him yogurt or soup to eat everyday. Lots of fruits and fiber.

The thing is she poops fine in the pull up poop is not too hard. She squats really low when going in pull up.

What kind of medical issues can arise from this?

No, I meant a medical issue as the cause

1 mom liked this

Have you asked her why it hurts? Like if it hurts her butt for sitting, or if it hurts when the poop comes out. If she poops in her pull up more than likely it's the seat itself bothering her. Try getting a cushioned seat.
