I can not wait to show off the worst cake I have ever made!!
I make cakes and I am usually happy with my end product. I a perfectionist and every detail is clean and "perfect" before I let anyone see it. My kids ussually help some. But for her birthday party tomorrow my almost 7 yr old, Lilly wanted to be fully involved. She had the idea for it and did it with me.
And it is a hot mess and something I never would want my name on ussually.....but I have never been prouder to show off a cake!
Lilly has autism and AdHD. She has trouble focusing or sticking with any project we start together. And she does not show appreciation or pride much.
She stuck with making the cake start to finish-from buying the stuff to baking it and decorating it. And she was sooo proud. When it was done, she was all smiles and had to show it off to her sisters. She thinks it is the most awesome cake ever. And she gave me a rare affectionate hug before bed and said, "thank you so much for making the cake with me. It is the best birthday cake ever. And I had so much fun with you!" My heart melted! :-)
So yup, this cake is pretty aweful and yup I can not wait for everyone to see it tomorrow!
