Are you allowed to go out with your girlfriends without your SO/husband?

I called a girlfriend up to see if she wanted to have a girls night. She told me she wasn't "allowed" to go out without her husband.

Yes, my DH even encourages it.  I would not be with a guy who stopped me.

I don't really have any close friends here to go out with, but if I did he wouldn't have a problem with it as long as I wasn't doing anything illegal or trying to pick up guys.

Um, yeah...I am "allowed" to do whatever I want. I'm grown. I woudln't be with a person who thinks he can tell me I can't do something like go out with my friends.

Yeah, we have our own lives. He also doesn't tell me what I'm "allowed" to do, he isn't my parent, he's my partner.

Of course. During the day though, at night I can't drive because of my due issues.
If I could drive I would be"allowed" though.

Of course I can. I rarely do because I would rather my husband come too. Most of my friends are single and childless and still want to go bar hopping and clubbing. That's never really been my thing.

I found it odd myself. They are young she's 22 he's 25. She said he believes that since they are married now all her free time needs to be with him.
