Yes I would be disappointed. I want her to do better than me. She'd better, so she can make enough money to take care of me in my old age,lol.

It would depend on the job I guess. Depending on where you work the same job can have a wide range of salaries. But that isn't true of every job. Overall though if my child was choosing a career they're good at and that will make them happy that's all I care about.

It's possible for anyone to struggle with money despite having a great job. I think teaching our children about money management and making financially smart choices is one of the best things we can teach them.

I'm in nursing school and my SO is a welder/electrition. We both have good jobs right now. I wouldn't mind my boys following either of our career paths

i guess it can be looked at this way...

my child had a happy upbringing dispite us not having a lot of money, and feels they can continue that happy life and provide the same to their family

Yes. I told my kids I expect better for them. We were also trying to better our situation.
