I got a message from DH toward the end of my class today...I was apparently right about DS's guinea pig being pregnant. She had babies!!!

Sheis hiding them in her hut and DH covered the cage telling the kids to leave them alone at least until I get home.
They THINK there are two babies.

I can't wait to get home!!! I'm waiting for my bus right now....
Will post pictures and more info when possible

PICTURES.....

Only two babies. It has been several hours, so we are certain Suzie (the Mama) is done.  She has been eating and drinking and moving around.  The babies are running around but every time a human comes near the cage, Mom quickly scoots them into the hut.  I picked up the babies briefly to check gender and make sure they are ok.  I have not touched Mom yet...thgh I want to give her a quick check before bed tonight.

We -think- this one is a boy....will check again in a few days.

We -think- this one is a girl.

Today is her 5 week 'anniversary' with us...and guinea pig pregnancies are 9-10 weeks-- so DD's piggy is officially 'off the hook'! ;-)

This is going to be one of my longest bus-rides home! LOL
DH said he got a peek and the babies appear to be 4 inches long!!! Mama isn't much bigger!!

She had to have been pregnant when we got her. I just noticed on Friday that she might be pregnant...we had no clue.

DD has had a male piggy for 1 1/2 years. The female is new.

I bought a pregnant hamster as a child. Not 3 weeks into owning it we were surprised with the squeeks of joy from 6 tiny, pink, hairless hamster babies.

I was instructed not to touch the babies or the mom would eat them!

Luckily we somehow found homes for all the babies once they turned into real hamsters with fur lol.

I had guinea pigs too. They're so much better than hamsters!
