Please send the school supplies that your child is asked to bring that is on their list.  If you don't teachers have to pay out of pocket what you don't. Also, if the teacher cannot afford this your child is at a disadvantage because they do not have what they need to learn. If you send extras, thank you for supplying them.

I learned last year how hard it is for a teacher to keep simple things like glue sticks around.  This year Im buying a double list to donate to a kid who didnt bring them.

I just don't understand the parents that think the teacher pockets this stuff or they don't have to get the stuff for their kid.

Amen. So many parents assume students will share, and that's just not how it is. I have had to provide extras myself because parents are too lazy to supply for the child they gave birth to.

I can afford to send the supplies that are requested and do so because I want my children to know how important I consider their education.

Some people simply can't afford it, we don't need to lay the guilt trip on their parents or make the kids feel inadequate.
