How long did you wait to announce your pregnancy?

Posted by   + Show Post
I am 12 weeks and we haven't told anyone yet. I'm really not looking forward to telling anyone because my family will be unsupportive. They all live near me and I see them all the time so I can't wait too much longer. I'd just rather not tell them at all, but I have to at some point. I just don't want to hear negative comments. This is our 5th baby.

With our first dd, I waited a week after we found out, so I was maybe 6 weeks at the time.

With our second, I found out I was pregnant after a weekend of extreme stomach pains.  So, we waited, just to be sure things were going to go good and I was around 11 weeks when we told.

Maybe a couple hours? LOL. My husband and I support ourselves and have never asked for anything from anyone, yet my grandmother (who I'm closest too) was dissapointed both times, I have no idea why? Honestly nothing could possibly have been said to me to ruin how excited I was to be a mommy (both times). My grandmother still says "I wish you would have had one" "or kids are just so hard, but you want to have them." She says I'm a great mom and that she is proud of me all the time, I think her disappointment was just her way of showing worry for me. She loves her great grandkids to death! Dont let you family get you down.

Past 12 weeks. If I ever become preggo again, I have contemplated waiting until I'm 20 weeks and beyond. Just to see how long I can go without announcing it haha

When I found out I was pregnant I was already about 10 weeks, so when my dates were confirmed I was about 11 weeks, I told immediate family right away, my Mum & Dad & sister, his Mom & sisters and my best friend, we didnt make it common knowledge till I was about 16 weeks or so.

We usually wait till about the 12 week mark.

Why will they be unsupportive?
