To chew on. He said to make sure to remove any gristle and lose parts Che could choke on but that it was good for her.

Anyone do this or hear of this?

Never heard of this.  Is your pedi from the older generation?

How old is she? It won't hurt as long as she is 6+ months and ready for solids. Not chicken bones! I've let my dd teeth on a rib bone before. She loved the flavor and it kept her busy during dinner.

What did he say was the reason for it? I've heard of people being told to give their kids beef jerky to help with teething. But why would he suggest bones? How old is your dd

Are you sure you aren't mistakenly taking your child to a veterinarian?

He was filling I. For her actually pedi. Yes, he was old school. He also said I could start her on small amounts of cows milk in her cereal.

She's under weight. He was giving me ideas on how to get her to to be more interested in solids and finger foods.

This was at her 6 mo. Appt.
