i'm getting really worried about my 4 yo *added pic*

Posted by   + Show Post

i walked in on him in the bathroom --- he was butt naked.

"what are you doing?"

"i'm pooping!"

"okay....so why are you naked?"

"I SAID I'M POOPING!!!!"

weird, but whatever.  then we had this little conversation

"i want some orange juice, please"

"oh, shoot, we're out....want apple juice instead?"

"no.  i want orange juice"

"yeah, i got that...but we're out.  there's apple juice, milk or water"

"orange juice"

"son....."

"orange juice"

"we don't have any"

"orange juice"

--that went on for like 5 minutes.  here's the kicker

"hey, go make sure your bedroom is picked up so i can sweep & mop in there"

"which bedroom?"

"the only bedroom you have"

"the one where i sleep?"

please, someone tell me that you have similar conversations with your kids.

this is my favorite pic of him....how can i argue with that little face?

Lmao. My ds won't even let me in the bathroom while he's pooping.

will he listen to what you say?  one of our biggest things is that he'll ask me a question, i'll say yes and he keeps asking because he's not even listening to what i say.  he's driving me nuts!  my 1st 2 kids never really acted like kids, so this is new for me.

LOL, yep. Dd1 will be four in September and the repetitiveness is astounding!

My 4yo does that last conversation! "Put your clothes in the hamper" "which hamper?" "The one right there next to you!" "This one?" "Yes, put your clothes in it!" "What clothes?"

ha!  that's it EXACTLY.  i'm so glad my kid doesn't seem to be unusual.

Yep and, this is going to sound horrible, I tune her out after a while. If she doesn't want to listen to me, I don't listen to her. She usually gets the hint and stops or will actually answer the question like it's suppose to be answered or acknowledge what I am saying to her.

Yeah, it will drive you crazy! Lol

"Mommy! I want a banana!"

You ate the last one this morning

"But I want a banana!"

How about an orange?

"Noooooo, a banana! Plllllleassssseee?!"

We have to go to the store to get more bananas.

"Can we go to the store?"

Not right now.

"I need a banana though!"

Why do you need a banana?

"Because they are yummy. Can I have a banana?"

No.

"Okay, how about a cookie?"

..... O.o Go play.

"But I want a banana!!!!"

She runs off to play. I peel and orange, and set it at the table for her.

"Yay! I love oranges."

Kids are weird.

Sounds like a normal kid conversation

Yes, this is normal. BTW, the original phrase was "buck naked," but younger people think it's butt naked.
