8 year old and Body odor

my son is 8 years old. And here lately he has had underarm odor. I have started to make him wear a light deodrant.  Is this normal at 8 years old??

Sounds early. Maybe try a cleaner diet? I don't even need deodorant because I don't eat junk food.

How nice of you to assume he eats junk and not cleanly. smh.

If he is heavy, yes. Also, he may not be using soap and washing well in the shower.

Kids in general are going through puberty earlier and earlier these days. I'd say thats what's going on here. Nothing to worry about.

Everyone is different. Just give him the deo. My ex neice started her monthly at 9yo so puberty can start early for some children.

My SS is 7 and has the same problem.  DH said he started having to wear deodorant early too, so I guess it's normal for some kids.

My daughter is eight and a half and my son is 10 and both of them wear deodorant. Neither are overweight or eat junk all day.
