I think most tax payers are for helping those in need, but we don't want to pay for annual trips and holiday parrties for government workers, private jets, etc.....If the Govt managed its money better, the GOVT could help the poor. That isn't just a Christian based value - that is a HUMAN value.

See there, you pointed it out in your second line. It is a conflict for me being non-religious. I see helping the poor as a HUMAN value not a religious thing.
