Did anyone else have homemade cloths as a kid?

The clothes are home made complete with bloomers! This picture was taken in 1998.

Do you have pictures? I'd love to see if you are willing to share?

Quoting IFartGlitter:

No. I make a lot of my kids clothes.

I have mine, my sisters have theirs & Mom still has hers too.

We did a ton of hand me downs, so whichever was our favorite was put into our quilt.

Quoting Walker88:

Do you have any other quilts now? That seems like a great way to re-purpose clothes!

Quoting MumsTheWord571:

Uh not like THAT! And I was 17 in 1998.

I did have homemade clothes, but they were sundresses and shorts and tees. Then when we outgrew those they were made into quilts.

I have a few I'll share, but I don't want any childbashing. If that shit starts (AGAIN), I will delete. So look fast!!

Here's what I found real quick that I've photographed:

These aprons:

This dress:

This goofy little nightgown (she grew into it! LOL) :

These halloween costumes (princess and alien-- per request):

This jersey shift nightie:

This whole outfit:

I've also made a TON of pants and shorts for him, some PJ sets for her, a dress for me, a handful of skirts for myself, a few pairs of palazzo pants for myself, t-shirts and sweaters for both of them.

All of our halloween costumes were handmade. I never wore a store-bought costume.

Mom also sewed many of our Sunday dresses.

Because of her, I love to sew and still do weekly.

Nah, my mom made me a few things when I was really young, but 99% of my clothes were storebought (many at the thrift store, though lol).

I did have a dress very similar to what is depicted.... in like 1989, lol. My mom didn't make it, but somebody did (maybe my aunt or grandma, I don't remember).

Was that really 1998??
