Why Is It Wrong...

For me to be happy that I had the first boy in my mothers side of the family in nearly 7 decades?

I was reading some of my old posts and if I even mention it or act like I'm proud of the fact, I get so many negative comments it's ridiculous.

What is so wrong about being proud of having a son after 3 daughters...and after so many women in my family have tried and failed since my great uncle was born 69 years ago? Seriously...I genuinely want to know.

I was thrilled when I had boys because no one in my family had them - I see nothing wrong with it - its not like you would not have been happy with girls - so screw what other's say - lol be happy

Because this isn't the first time you posted it.

Quit bragging.

All of the daughters are special too.

I never said my daughters aren't special. I love my children equally but even mentioning the fact I had the first boy sends women like you in a frenzy. Am I not allowed to be happy to have a son???

Because some people live to tear down another's joy in life.

Well of COURSE you are.

But, as I said, quit bragging about it. Do you brag about your daughters?

This is NOT the first time I've read this post.  Once is enough.

I'm sure I was more supportive last time. But, you seem like you think you have a special uterus because you produced a son.

The fist time you posted this, I thought how very special and beautiful that he gets to grow up and be the man of the family! And how very lovely for them to have a boy after so long. It must mean so much to the grand/great grands.

Now, well, I think you think YOU are specail. Your son is specail, you aren't.

maybe they feel like you shouldn't be proud of something you in reality had no control of?
