My embarrassing moment from my teenage years

When I was 13, I wrote a love letter to a boy in my class (I was still in primary school where I am at that age) and stuck it in my shirt pocket, so that I could have easy access to slip it into his desk tray. As I was leaving the house, for some reason my mom started patting the area where my pocket was while she hugged me and took the note out of my pocket. "I dont' remember signing a permission slip" she said, unfolding it. Obviously I tried to snatch it from her but it didn't work. She read the entire damn thing, refusing to let me leave the house until she was done, and then made me unpack my entire bag so she could go through the three notebooks in my bag to make sure there were no other letters there. For about 2 months after that I was not allowed to have any paper without first asking for it, and was randomly checked on when I was writing. My mom also checked my pockets, and school books each morning before I left for school and rung the teacher to ask her to also go through my notebook.

My mom wasn't controlling or anything, she was just very adamant that I should not have any feelings towards boys until I was at least 16 otherwise I would fall pregnant. Personally I'm glad my dad was overseas for those two months otherwise he would've stripped my privacy down a lot more. We were a religious family, and I was a hormonal girl lol.

So, what's your most embarrassing moment? Do you read letters that your kids have written to their classmates/friends? Have any moments of people reading your things? I know my sisters read my diaries growing up, because I was randomly being punished and wouldn't get told why I was being punished, I figured now that it was from what I was writing that I was doing in my diary (nothing bad, like I said, my parents were strict) and my mom felt she couldn't admit to actually reading my diary lol.

I shoplifted from a store with a friend when I was a senior in high school.  First and last time.  We were busted, of course.  Had to tell our parents, go to court, do community service.  The thing is, we were stealing shirts and I lifted a cute purse to put it in.  When they caught us, they took the shirts but gave me back the purse because they thought it was mine.  I was too afraid to say anything and I kept it.

My mom would have never have let that one happen. She knew the exact contents of our rooms and who had given us what. Me on the other hand - seeing as my daughter buys her own stuff, I have no idea what exactly I bought for her and what she's bought herself :P there's too much of it lol. But - yes, that is embarrassing/kinda a win for you I guess getting to keep the purse.

I've got two:

I was 14 and a freshman in HS.  I rode the bus every morning and one day I wore a black and gray plaid skirt, a black turtleneck sweater, and black knee-high boots. When i got off the bus and slipped my backpack on, the bottom of my skirt got hung on the zipper. I didn't notice and walked about 100 yards this way, past several hundred students.  Boys clapped and whistled, but I had no idea it was for me.  It wasn't until some random guy said "hey, your skirts up" that I reached back and realized my entire ass was hanging out. At least I had cute underwear...

Then, when I was 17 I took a beach trip with about 12 friends, guys and girls. While sleeping, I had a dream that I had to pee. It was super realistic, and in the dream I got up, went to the toilet, sat down and peed.  Then I woke up...covered in pee. Everyone had a good laugh, but it WAS embarrassing.

I had to read through this twice because I read "shirt" and didn't realize it was a typo and wondered where the hell your skirt actually was. lol. And oh wow. At least you had cute underwear lol.

And as for the bedwetting O.o at least they were good friends...That's all I can say there.

You only have one?!  I think your mom was controlling and probably needed a good education in child development.

Hahaha.  Thanks! I'll bet that was confusing - so I fixed it. And yes, they were very close friends.  We all laughed about it and they never ragged me about it again. Matter of fact,  I went on to marry one of those friends. All is well!

I found my stepfathers porn stash when I was 15.  My folks were out for the day so I decided to watch it.  Well, one thing lead to another and I was masturbating and my folks came home....I didnt hear them but all of a sudden my stepfather walked over to the VCR and ejected the video....I quickly pulled my hand out of my pants but I mean come on, it was obvious what I was doing...he grabbed the tape and said "dont watch this again, and Im NOT going to tel your mother about this"

He walked upstairs and it was never brought up, ever again lol  I was mortified.

Oh wow....I can't even imagine DD's stepfather wanting to walk into the house until I had dealt with it. Regardless of the crap I would have given him for owning a porn stash - he still would have never wnated to see her do that - neither my father with my mother. So yes - awkward. Definetley.

They were strict - but back then we were a big family in a small town where other family member's decisions made our whole community judge every branch. She was scared. It was different times (like 30 years ago) and she was still paying for decisions my father's family had made - even before my father knew my mother.
