When I was 13, I wrote a love letter to a boy in my class (I was still in primary school where I am at that age) and stuck it in my shirt pocket, so that I could have easy access to slip it into his desk tray. As I was leaving the house, for some reason my mom started patting the area where my pocket was while she hugged me and took the note out of my pocket. "I dont' remember signing a permission slip" she said, unfolding it. Obviously I tried to snatch it from her but it didn't work. She read the entire damn thing, refusing to let me leave the house until she was done, and then made me unpack my entire bag so she could go through the three notebooks in my bag to make sure there were no other letters there. For about 2 months after that I was not allowed to have any paper without first asking for it, and was randomly checked on when I was writing. My mom also checked my pockets, and school books each morning before I left for school and rung the teacher to ask her to also go through my notebook.
My mom wasn't controlling or anything, she was just very adamant that I should not have any feelings towards boys until I was at least 16 otherwise I would fall pregnant. Personally I'm glad my dad was overseas for those two months otherwise he would've stripped my privacy down a lot more. We were a religious family, and I was a hormonal girl lol.
So, what's your most embarrassing moment? Do you read letters that your kids have written to their classmates/friends? Have any moments of people reading your things? I know my sisters read my diaries growing up, because I was randomly being punished and wouldn't get told why I was being punished, I figured now that it was from what I was writing that I was doing in my diary (nothing bad, like I said, my parents were strict) and my mom felt she couldn't admit to actually reading my diary lol.
