Your paycheck before deductions

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
So this may sound silly but I'm just curious.
About how much different is your paycheck after taxes and other deductions.
I get paid once a month so I usually do a simple rundown of what my next paycheck might be.
I work at least 35hrs a week(that's considered full time where I work) but usually end up filling in 1day a week to get the 40hrs if not more.
Our pay is the 23rd to the 23rd.
Be fore everything I will make ~1,687(with a 6.5hr extra shift) if I don't fill in more between now and the 23rd.
After everything comes out ill have maybe ~1,100.
$398 is an automatic because its kids insurance.
The rest is taxes, life insurance, retirement, union dues.
It's just depressing sometimes seeing the difference and knowing that if I work more, more taxes are taken. Don't get me wrong I understand the purpose if taxes it just frustrating some times!

Between my husband and I we probably get $2500 taken out each month. That's with claiming zeros and we still end up owning a few thousand at the end of the year:(

My base salary every other week is 1300 or so. Minus any overtime or anything. My actual bring home pay is around 960.

Before taxes about $1400 per paycheck and after taxes it goes down between $1100-1200.
