My son slept in his car last night

My 17 year old son has a curfew of midnight during the summer. At midnight I go an lock the door and go to bed. He has never missed curfew before until last night. I texted him saying I was locking the door and going to bed and we would discuss further punishment in the morning. I got up this morning to let the dogs out and he is in the drive way sleeping in his car. It seemed really uncomfortable. He is also not able to go out for the next 7 days. I feel that a midnight curfew is pretty lenient and there was no reason why he should NOT make it home by that time. He is a little irritated but he knew the rules and what would happen if he missed it. My oldest DD did it once and she ended up sleeping on the back porch never happened again. I hope my son learns from this also.

Sounds like you did good. There are consequences for poor decision making.
