I want to dye my hair purple and just want to know all the details! How hard is it to keep up with it? Any special shampoo? etc!

Thanks!

My sister used to have purple tips and I know it faded to pink after a while

Depends on your hair color now if you need to prep anything. I used a loreal color shampoo when mine is done. If you hair is darker roots will show less and won't need as much upkeep. And the less you do to your hair the better it will last, try and keep heat tools, blow dryers or excessive conditioning to a minimum.

Just use a gentle shampoo or a no lather and it'll stay well. I used manic panic dye, it's pretty good.

I have dark hair, so it didn't show up very well on me. The hot pink showed great, but faded fast and looked dingy. I have normal hair now, though.
