Would you support Trayvon's Law (#1) UPDATED

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

Would you support a law honoring Trayvon, that would make it a FELONY for a neighborhood watchman, security guard, or police officer, to approach a  person simply because he "looked suspicious" and for no other reason at all?

If so would you sign the petition I might start? Thanks for your support!

UPDATED: Okay I fixed it to say just "person", not "black person"

Couldn't agree more.

Quoting SRUsarahSC:

No because it racist in and of itself to make it only for black peoples protection and because you have no way of proving it.  Pointless to male laws that are unable to be enforced.

The fourth amendment allows restrictions based on places, not people. But would it be that far of a stretch to disallow based on role. My BIL is not allowed, as a fireman, to conceal carry when on duty (Nevada). Would it be that far a stretch to disallow neighborhood watch from carrying when "on duty"?
Quoting ladyraven16:

Well that would be unconstitutional my friend.

Quoting Anonymous:

NO!  But I would support a law that made it illegal for neighborhood watchmen/women to carry guns.

Profiling?  I'm pretty sure this happens all the time.  A law against it?  Please, there are always ways around that.  And what if this said black person is already a known felon/trouble causer?  Too many what ifs with this law.

No and why only a black person?  So, it's okay for them to shoot any other race except black?
