Stop Using The Holocaust to Justify Your Bigotry!

I've been wanting to get this off my chest.

I'm Jewish. One thing I've noticed is that people love to use The Holocaust to justify bigotry, intolerance and lack of empathy for human beings. My family didn't die so you could make idiotic comparisons with others.

When you make statements like: "Look at Jews who survived the Holocaust and didn't do XYZ, but you did!"
You show me your ignorance on both Judaism and The Holocaust.
You befuddle the message survivors give.
Not only that but it's embarassment for me to read.

The Holocaust didn't happen so you could comment about how Jews bounced back, while insulting other people in the process.

It happened because people can be genuinely screwed up.

--> The point survivors try to stress is that denigration of ALL PEOPLE in ANY form should end.

I've never seen the Holocaust used that way, actually.
But what pisses me off is people that compare anything they can to Nazi Germany to create some sort of impact. Some of the most infuriating comparisons I've seen to the Holocaust are: the Confederacy, the Salem Witch Trials and Obama.

That annoys me to.
No, I'm talking about the comparison to slavery and African Americans today.

Using The Holocaust to compare it to let's say slavery and spew bigotry towards AA's for example. Make more sense?

I said I haven't. I understand why you would be upset I'm just saying I've been on her for a little bit and haven't seen it. I have also never heard that irl either. I always got the "your great great great grandparents......No TV...... La la la..." I'm Native American and I'm as my mom would say "Luck we don't live on a reservation" so that what I here alot :( My point is someone is ALWAYS going to use the overcoming of a struggle to justify their downfalls as a person to make themselves look better. Like "Oh well [insert race, faith, ethnicity] went through [insert struggle] and they came out just fine. It is an annoyance because that's no excuse to act like an ass.
