I just got a neew tattoo on my foot friday. Very bright in colors. Well on the paper saying no swimming until tattoo is heal. How long have any of you waited to go swimming after getting a new tattoo? Or how long should I wait to be safe?

I just got one on my leg on Mother's Day. They didn't tell me anything like that. I asked what I needed to do and they just said keep it clean. I didn't even have to use ointment on it or anything.

It's healed when there are no longer "scabs" on it.

My husband is a professional tattoo artist. It takes two weeks to heal the chemicals in the water will pull the ink out and leave you with just a scar

Yeah. Especially on a foot, they are hard enough to keep bright

Until all the scabs has fallen off and the skin has healed.  But you don't want to get sun on it so I would keep it covered if you'll be outside.

I usually get my tattoos in the colder months.
