I am not here to bash i am also a SAHM, but im curious, i never heard of this until i joined this site, how many stay at home moms actually get an allowance from their DHs or SOs?  why? this is an actual question. Me and my Dh do things differently and always have, I know if i want my own money I need to get a job.  thats how i look at it but he says the money he makes isnt his its ours. but still I never ask him for any money unless i NEED something or if its for the kids and he will just buy it!

I don't have an allowance lol. I spend what I want and he spends what he wants. I'm not 12 years old.

I don't. I have a debit card so I can buy what I want when I want.

An allowance? Lol I spend what I want; I do however give him a heads up if I'm spending more than $50 on a nonessential item

Nope. I don't need an allowance. If I want or need something we can afford we buy it. If he wants or needs something we can afford we buy it.  .

In vain he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

We both spend freely out of our discretionary money.

im a sahm ..my husband used to joke  when wed go to blockbuster and rent a movie.. it would equal $ 2.97 and hed give them 3 bucks.. then hed tell me the .3 was my   monthly allowance. Thankfully he never has said a word about my spending ever.. but we both  are not very  wasteful and save. I hardly buy for myself ( every time i  pick something out i put it back when i see something  i like for the kids ) I wouldnt object to a budget if he wanted but an allowance sounds  soo wrong :)

I use a debit card, but he does give me 100 cash per month so we can save money. Cuz he is a spend-a-Holic and if I don't keep the cash in my own savings account he spends it.

No, I manage all our bills, savings etc. If anything he asksme before spending any large amounts.
