Have you gone through early menopause?

I have been having issues for a while with my period- it's gotten irregular, extremely light, and I am having hot flashes- I am 35. I don't know that it's early menopause, but after looking up symptoms, it sounds likely- low sex drive, low natural lubrication, difficulty sleeping, irregular periods that are lighter or heavier than normal, etc.

Heres my 2 questions:

1 - did you have a tubal ligation done after having children?

2 - what age were you when you started having symptoms?

I had a tubal at 28, started having symptoms  of perimenopause at 37 or 38. I'm now 40 and still having irregular or missing periods, sleep issues, low sex drive, and weight fluctuations. I used to be extremely regualar, a perfect 28 day cycle, like clockwork. This missing 3 months or more at a time is making me crazy.

I am 41 and perimenopausal.  I had my tubes tied after my last baby back in 2002.  I started having the symptoms you are describing when I was 35 and it has gotten progressively worse.  I am having horrific night sweats, very painful periods (which were never a problem for me prior to my tubal), very low to non-existent sex drive, I could go on.  It is miserable though.

I had not even thought about weight gain. I have maintained the same weight for 8 years, but since February, I have out on 15 pounds. :(

have your doctor check your hormone levels. they can tell you if you're pre-menopausal or not. if you're not, it could be post tubal dysfunction or something like that. I don't remember the exact name but there's a small percent of women who have problems resulting from getting their tubes tied.
