Traveling with a kid

I'm taking my kid to Jamaica this summer and I'm not bringing her carseat. I'm going to buy a backless booster seat to use down there. Should I bring it on the plane or check it?

Backless booster?  I'd bring it on the plane, if you're not too loaded down.

I dont think it will matter either way. Just depends on how much you want to carry to the gate. I would check it just because I wouldnt want something extra to carry.
