Where I live we always get hurricane warnings, and had a warning for severe thunder and lightening...its been upgraded to a tornado warning. Yikes!
The only tornado to touchdown where I live (according to google) that I could find happened in 1954, so this is not something we are used to.
If it does touchdown i can see alot of people being harmed due to how uncommon it is & my facebook blowing up with 'storm chasers'.
No real point...just wanted to let out a rant about this...yikes!
Its just been lifted...whew!

We get them around where I live a lot, but it's been over 30 years since one actually hit our little town. Get in a basement if you can. If not an interior room with no windows. Most of the time it seems like these storms pass without causing much real damage. We had one a few weeks ago touch down just outside city limits, but it went back up within a minute. Still, can never be to careful.

Oh wow! I don't think of tornadoes when I think of Canada. I moved to Oklahoma about 3 weeks after all the horrible tornadoes here and all my friends thought I was insane. We've barely had rain since I moved! Lol

My province it never happens, the more western provinces do get them (ontario, alberta etc). We do usually get quite a few hurricane warnings but they rarely are ever more than heavy rain.
