How long is meat good when its put in freezer? I have some chicken breasts I put in there in april 2012 and forgot about. Are they safe to thaw and cook?

A whole chicken is good for a year.  Pieces are good for 6 - 9 months.

I think a year is too long, they get freezer burn and taste disgusting.  But if it was wrapped up really well, you might be ok.  I usually try to use frozen meat within 6 months.

eh, well, it depends on how they were packaged and what type of freezer really.. but my rule of thumb is if it is air tight in a deep freezer, then 1 yr, if it is air tight in the fridge freezer.. then 6 mo...

Personally I would not eat it. =/

Honestly I don't know, but I really don't think so. If mine is over 6 months old I toss it. But that's a rare occasion. lol

That would be fine, but make sure to cook at least above the min recommended temp.

Depends on how well they were sealed. Vacuum sealed can last up to a year and half if there is no sign of freezer burn.
