Blacks and African Americans.... What is the proper term?

And for white people... Why is it ok to call them white, but when it comes to black people they get offended?

They are dense. Just call them whatever you want.

It's personal preference. I'm white. My (obviously adopted) brother is black. He prefers to be called black. I work with a lady born and raised in Africa, but she prefers black too. I know this because I asked them.

not every person whois black is of African decent. So my mpression is that black is the most appropriate term. just like not all latinos are Mexican.

I have never known someone to be offended by being called black.

I prefer Black American...but I can not speak for what another person prefers. As far as white that is what they are (right)? and depending on the context will determine if I get offended
