Do they have any samples in their office they can give you?  Or can s/he prescribe another medication that has a generic equivalent?

Call and ask him about a solution of 1/2 alcohol and 1/2 vinegar (as suggested by their PEDI), worked wonders on ear infections for my sons

Call pharmacies and ask.  Many stores like Wegmans, Giant, etc offer free antibiotics with your store card.  Also, Walmart does the $4 generic prescriptions.  Call around and ask.  Good luck.

my pharmacy will fill amoxicillin for free.  I had that issue before.  I had insurance but my deductible wasn't met and I had to pay the amount of the script outright.  They told me next time have them call in amoxicillin and they fill that for no cost to you

Call the doctor back and ask them to prescribe something different.

Ok the doc should be able to help you either with generics, free samples, coupons, or a low cost perscription deal at a pharmacy.
