Wash your pillows? Your bedding? Quilts?

I didn't know this but you're supposed to wash your pillows 3x a year! I was my sheets and pillow cases once a week and my quilts every other week. Today I washed the hubs pillows since I did mine recently. Next week it will be the kids' pillows.

My process I found on Pinterest is simple:
1c. Detergent
1c. Bleach
1c. Powder Dishwasher Detergent
1/2c. Borax (I forgot to use this once and it didn't make a difference)

1. Fill your top loading washer with hot hot water.( I put it on a large load)
2. Add your soaps and bleach.
3. Let your washer fill up and agitate for a minute or two to let all the soap mix together.
4. Add pillows. I only did two at a time.
5. Put on a long cycle and wash.
6. Halfway through the cycle flip pillows to get the part that was sticking out into the water.
7. Rinse once or twice more. I just put it on a short cold wash cycle.
8. Grab a CLEAN sneaker or wool dryer balls and put your pillows in the dryer to dry. Then there ya have it clean pillows!

I don't wash my pillows I do put them in the dryer every other week. My sheet are done 1-2 times a week depending on the amount of sex or how hot it is. The quilts get washed every other week.
