I jogged 2 miles today and walked an additional 7 miles. 9 total. I'm at 20 for the week.

My thighs and legs hurt so bad. What the heck was I thinking! !

I started walking at least 20 miles a week a few weeks ago like 3.

Monday I started adding jogging to it

I started a diet on 6-17 and I am down 20 pounds :)

The HEALTHY way. Not starving myself or anything like that

Ok...the reason I asked is because you don't want to overdo it. Have you been fitted for shoes? If not, be very careful as running should never be done in walking shoes ( yes, there is a huge difference).

How many days per week are you walking/ jogging? Try not to run everyday as it is not good for your body. It overuses your muscles and they won't get time to rebuild and restrand. It is best if you only run 3-4x per week or every other day.

Also, I would recommend adding in strength training and flexibility training. Your body needs those. As you build muscle, you will burn more calories at rest and during workouts. Also, a better core, means more efficient workouts! It's a win-win!

Good job on your loss so far! 20 lbs is a huge loss in just 3 weeks! Make sure you are eating enough so that your muscles are not deprived of essential nutrients. :-)

I'm a runner and getting my Personal Trainer Certifications which is another reason I asked. Soreness is a good thing...just don't let it go too far as you don't want injury to sideline you.
